The goal of this project was to create an advertisement illustration depicting the origin of something. I chose "deception" with the intent to portray magic tricks over the centuries. While I had several ideas on what to illustrate, I ended up deciding on showing a vanishing cabinet trick with a lovely assistant. This project took almost 14 hours, partially due to the amount of detail work in the bodice of the assistant's outfit. While this was for a school project and not for National Geographic, the end result captures the victorian allure for magic, manipulation, and illusion.
