In early February 2018, Ara Karamanian, M.D. contacted me to work on a children's magazine aimed towards the Armenian Orthodox Christian community. He began by showing me beautiful and ancient Armenian manuscripts decorated lavishly with illustrations. It immediately got my attention and I was on-board. Not being Armenian nor Orthodox Christian, I had a lot to learn about their culture, traditions, and even their language. I tried hard to incorporate as much of their culture into the design and illustration of this magazine. Since then, we created five issues of the magazine together and I continued to work on illustration content for 3 more issues. For all of the issues that I worked on, I created all elements of the design and illustrated the whole magazine myself.
