Narrative Literature & Packaging
This was a part of a quarter-long project that utilized a single museum exhibit concept to develop various design works: an identity program, environmental graphics, narrative literature, and packaging. The following are my final images of my Narrative Literature mock-up.
Programs
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe InDesign
• Adobe Photoshop
• Procreate
Narrative Literature
The exhibit I created was a showcase of playing cards throughout history and throughout the world, so I wanted to create something interactive, playful, but also informative for my literature.
The final mock-up contains information on playing cards from China, India, France, and Japan as well as a map of their approximate locations of origin. Also included are pull-out playing cards created in the style of their respective countries.
This project took the most time in the development phase, where I had to build rough comps and work-out the logistics of the mechanics.
Packaging
The idea for the package was that there would be a series of these Timeless boxes, each containing replica cards from different eras and countries. The one I chose to create was one for the replica cards of the French Revolution, complete with accompanying dice.
Just as with the Narrative Literature, the most time was spent in the development phase, working-out the logistics and mechanics of the box.
Both projects were printed and put together by myself, however, replica French Playing cards and dice were purchased separately. All cards are archival historical cards from various museum and personal collections, save for the Queen of Hearts cover illustration which I drew in Procreate.
