The Good Death

Social Outreach Campaign

As a part of my Studio II class at SCAD, I was tasked with choosing a social issue to create a campaign for. From 3 topics, Euthanasia was chosen as the strongest subject and most challenging to design for. Because of its controversial nature, I wanted to be respectful of both sides of this difficult issue.

Booklet

This campaign seeks to inform those who are considering planned euthanasia for themselves as well as those family members who are caring for a loved one who is in pain. Since it has the perception of being a heartless act, these deliverables focus on the love and concern that is behind the argument for Euthanasia.

Flyer

Through the use of pressed flowers, I wanted to present the sentiment of preserving memories, and also bring a more natural element to what many would normally associate with syringes and hospital beds. Instead, I focus on the empathy and desire to relieve the suffering of those we love.

Website

I wanted to make my deliverables consistent across the board so that they may be recognizable no matter which a person sees first. That also includes repeating crucial information about the topic so everyone has the same—or similar—information.
